    BTC informs a planned work on 11th Jul 2010 to start at 0001 hrs and end at 0030 hrs. (30 min). The work will cause an outage affecting ADSL custoemrs, data links, international leased circuits and voice traffic. the objective of the planned work is the improvement of the existing network resources, BTC explains.

  • Cable fault interrupts Botswana internet [Gabzfm News]

    Botswana may be one of the African countries currently experiencing internet service problems due to a fault with an undersea fibre cable. Seacom, the owners of the cable, which connects several African countries to Europe and Asia, says the fault could take up to a week to repair. They say the exact cause of the problem is still being investigated.Many home users and businesses in Botswana have complaint that the net in has been very slow in the past few days. Some internet service providers in Botswana have already informed their clients that there is a general shortage of bandwidth from Botswana Telecoms.

    BTC inform that one if its Internet link is down due to a fibre cut in South Africa. The link is being repaired and hopeful of getting restored by today afternoon. Internet Traffic has been rerouted to alternative links; still it's likely to experience a slow Internet until the link get restored.
